Habitat for Humanity Fond du Lac County is a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, dedicated to providing safe, decent, and affordable housing for families in need. As part of our commitment to building stronger communities, we are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Volunteer Home Build Assistants. You will play a crucial role in constructing homes for families in need, regardless of prior construction experience. Overview:

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Volunteer Resource Booth Staff. As representatives of our organization, you will play a vital role in engaging with the community, providing valuable information about our programs and services, and promoting our mission. This volunteer position offers a rewarding opportunity to connect with people, share knowledge, and make a difference in our community.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain resource booths at community events, fairs, and other outreach opportunities.
  • Engage with event attendees in a friendly and approachable manner, providing information about our organization's mission, programs, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of our organization's mission, goals, and programs, effectively conveying this information to visitors and addressing any questions or inquiries.
  • Distribute promotional materials, brochures, and flyers to educate the public about our services and initiatives.
  • Answer questions and provide guidance to visitors, offering assistance in navigating our programs and services and connecting them with relevant resources.
  • Collect contact information and sign up interested individuals for newsletters, volunteer opportunities, and other communications, ensuring accurate record-keeping and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with fellow volunteers and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the resource booth and maximize outreach efforts.
  • Represent our organization professionally and positively, adhering to our values and promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
  • Pack up and clean the resource booth area at the end of each event, ensuring that materials are properly stored and the area is left tidy.

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to engage with diverse individuals and communicate effectively about our organization's mission, goals, and programs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of our organization's mission, programs, and services, with the ability to convey this information accurately and enthusiastically to others.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling assigned shifts and responsibilities.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods and interacting with event attendees in a busy environment.
  • Willingness to learn and stay informed about updates to our programs and services to effectively communicate with visitors.
  • Positive attitude and a passion for making a difference in the community.
  • Previous experience in customer service, outreach, or event staffing is a plus but not required.
