Volunteer: Admissions & Gift Shop VolunteerVolunteers in our Welcome Center will greet visitors, sell admissions and gift shop items, and offer informational materials about the Historic Galloway House and Village as well as the surrounding area. Volunteers will be trained until comfortable selling admissions and items independently. The Welcome Center is climate controlled and volunteers may sit during the shift. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with visitors and with using, or learning to use, a digital point of sale system (Square) and cash register. Open hours can be found on our website. Some of our past events include our Season Opening Celebration, Old-Fashioned Games Weekends, Nights Out in the Village series, and our Annual Ice Cream Social. Must be able to stand for up to 2-3 hours at a time and do stairs. Docents will be trained until comfortable leading tours independently. Most docents provide tours of the Galloway House, which is climate controlled. Docents may also be trained for tours of our historic Village, located outdoors. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with the public and have an interest in learning and sharing local history. This volunteer role is perfect for lovers of history and museums! Volunteer hours TBD. Volunteers may also opt to docent at special events and/or to guide students during specially scheduled school tours.
