FDL county united way is gearing up to Rake a Difference. We are looking for amazing volunteers to help make a real impact in our community! Every fall, teams of volunteers come together to rake leaves and assist elderly resident, individuals with disabilities, and neighbors who need extra help preparing their yards for winter. This event id powered by kindness and we need you to help make it happen. Let's show what Fond du Lac county can do when we come together. We are looking for board members and invite you to apply! If you have any questions about what the responsibilities would be, time commitment, etc, or are wanting to apply, contact Amber Kilawee at akilawee@fdlunitedway.org, or call our office at (920) 921-7010. 

In the event of a disaster, any spontaneous volunteers who arrive at a disaster scene will be directed to the VRC (Volunteer Reception Center), where they will screened and matched with a volunteer opportunity at the disaster scene. The VRC is staffed by another group of volunteers who assemble immediately after a disaster to run the VRC. 

We are always recruiting volunteers to join our VRC team. In the event of a disaster, they will utilize a phone tree to notify other volunteer staff and will assemble at the designated location. They will interview, screen and match volunteers with volunteer opportunities. 

Please respond to this need if you are interested in joining our VRC team. Trainings are ongoing and held every 6 months to prepare staff for their role in case of a disaster. 

This is an opportunity for individuals to volunteer generally with the Fond du Lac Area United Way and for a place to track hours for volunteer work done with us.

Other examples could be: spent time promoting us at the Farmers Market, refed a kickball game, folded t-shirts.
