Docent will guide tours in small groups, explaining the history behind one or more of the buildings at the Historic Galloway House and Village. Must be able to stand for up to 2-3 hours at a time and do stairs. Docents will be trained until comfortable leading tours independently.
Most docents provide tours of the Galloway House, which is climate controlled. Docents may also be trained for tours of our historic Village, located outdoors. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with the public and have an interest in learning and sharing local history. This volunteer role is perfect for lovers of history and museums!

Volunteers may also opt to docent at special events and/or to guide students during specially scheduled school tours.
