Volunteer: Child Care Help for Parent Life program

Badgerland YFC is in need of a childcare helper on Tuesday nights from 5:00pm-7pm during the teen parent "Parent Life Program" meetings. Dinner is provided. The volunteer would be assisting an adult volunteer. This is an ideal opportunity for a person studying Early Childcare to gain hands-on experience!

Must be at least 18, have their own transportation, and must have completed Red Cross babysitting class or something similar. Additional help 13 and older is accepted with a chaperone.

Mentor Job Description
As a mentor, your main responsibility is to partner with another Christian adult to build loving relationships with five to six teen parents. Depending on the needs and interests of your group, this can look different. Mentors are equipped to find and get to know teen parents in their communities, become a supporting part of their lives, share the message of Christ through their own stories, and then walk alongside the teen parent as he or she learns to follow Christ.

Key Responsibilities:

Regularly pursue relationships with teen parents (in person, social media, text, or phone) Initiate small group get-togethers, outside of our large group gatherings Attend and help with special events (large group meetings, quarterly outings, summer camp) and help your teen get there as well. This can include: providing transportation, planning & prepping content, leading games, sharing a message, facilitating a small group discussion. Participate in regular team meetings Participate in chapter wide trainings (3 of 6 annually)

Time Commitment:
3-5 hrs./week
Minimum of one year

Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire and intention to walk in His ways Active member of a local church Overall good health, emotionally, physically, spiritually so that you are able to give
