Volunteer: Disaster Mental Health Volunteer

The role of the Disaster Mental Health Service Associate (SA) or Worker is to serve as a member of a temporary work unit on a disaster relief operation to provide disaster mental health support to individuals and families who have been impacted by a disaster.

Support the emotional health of individuals, families, communities and Red Cross workers through the use of disaster mental health interventions. Assist in developing partnerships with local mental health agencies. Facilitate long-term recovery for clients by providing disaster mental health support and connection to local resources. Qualifications:

Volunteer: Pedro the Penguin Team Member

Save lives and prevent injury by providing leadership and/or support to Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) team members by supporting the Prepare with Pedro program. The 30-45-minute presentation provides emergency preparedness education to youth in grades K-2 (ages 4-7) in school classrooms and other settings by following Pedro the Penguin as he learns how to be prepared and take action during an emergency. Team member roles include either being a presenter, presentation assistant, administrative support, or presenter trainer.

Presenter Responsibilities:
